My Threading Story

The art of threading was often passed down through generations.  When I was 16, I remember watching my aunty threading someone's eyebrows.  I was absolutely fascinated and asked her if she could teach me this amazing technique.   Fortunately for me she did, however, it was a lot harder than it looked.  I asked her how she made it look so effortless.  She gave me a simple but valuable word of advice... "Practice."   So I did just that.  Any spare time of day I'd sit down with my thread, prop up my leg and I'd start practicing.  

As my technique improved I began threading my sister's and cousin's mustaches.  Yes we all had them thanks to our amazing Indian heritage.  We were clueless about beauty in our teens unlike the girls these days.  

I continued practicing for another two years on friends and family, before I was confident enough to start threading clients.  I began threading teachers at locals schools in their lunch hour.  Many of them are still my clients and I am now threading their grown up children!

Fast forward to 30 years, I have my own little studio at home with amazing clients who are more like friends.   As well as Threading, I also worked as a professional make up artist for 25 years for brands such as Lancome, Bobbi Brown, Nars and MAC.    I am also a qualified Reiki Practitioner in Holy Fire Usui Reiki level one and two.
